At-Tur

By the mount

قسم ہے طور کی۔

And [by] a Book inscribed

اور اس کتاب کی قسم جو لکھی ہوئی ہے۔

In parchment spread open

کشادہ ورق میں۔

And [by] the frequented House

اور قسم ہے آباد گھر کی۔

And [by] the ceiling [i.e., heaven] raised high

اور قسم ہے اونچی چھت کی۔

And [by] the sea set on fire,

اور قسم ہے ابلتے ہوئے سمندر کی۔

Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.

تیرے رب کا عذاب یقینا واقع ہو کر رہے گا۔

Of it there is no preventer.

اسے کوئی روکنے والا نہ ہوگا۔

On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion

جس روز کہ آسمان بری طرح لرزے گا۔

And the mountains will pass on, departing -

اور پہاڑ چل رہے ہوں گے جیسے چلا جاتا ہے۔

Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,

پس ہلاکت و بربادی ہے اس دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لیے۔

Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.

وہ لوگ جو خوش گپیوں میں مصروف کھیل رہے ہیں۔

The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],

جس دن ان کو دھکے دے دے کر جہنم کی طرف دھکیلاجائے گا۔

"This is the Fire which you used to deny.

اور کہا جائے گا) یہ ہے وہ آگ جس کو تم جھٹلایا کرتے تھے۔

Then is this magic, or do you not see?

کیا یہ جادو ہے یا تم دیکھ نہیں رہے ہو ؟

[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."

اب داخل ہو جائو اس میں تم خواہ صبر کرو یا نہ کرو اب تمہارے حق میں برابر ہے۔ تمہیں بدلے میں وہی کچھ تو مل رہا ہے جو کچھ تم عمل کیا کرتے تھے۔

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,

یقینا متقی لوگ باغات میں اور نعمتوں میں ہوں گے۔

Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.

وہ مزے کر رہے ہوں گے ان نعمتوں کے ساتھ جو ان کے رب نے انہیں عطا کی ہوں گی۔ اور بچا لے گا انہیں ان کا ربّ جہنم کے عذاب سے۔

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

اور کھائو پیو رچتا پچتا اُن اعمال کا صلہ جو تم کرتے رہے ہو۔

They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

وہ تکیے لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے ان تختوں پر جو برابر بچھے ہوں گے صف درصف۔ اورا نہیں ہم بیاہ دیں گے بڑی بڑی آنکھوں والی حوروں کے ساتھ۔

And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.

اور وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور ان کی اولاد نے بھی ان کی پیروی کی ایمان کے ساتھ ہم ملا دیں گے ان کے ساتھ ان کی اس اولاد کو اور ہم ان کے عمل میں سے کوئی کمی نہیں کریں گے۔ ہر انسان اپنی کمائی کے عوض رہن ہوگا۔

And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.

اور ہم انہیں دیے چلے جائیں گے پھل اور گوشت جس سے وہ چاہیں گے۔

They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.

اس میں وہ ایک دوسرے سے چھین رہے ہوں گے وہ جام جن (کے مشروب) میں نہ تو کوئی بےہودگی ہوگی اور نہ ہی گناہ میں ڈالنے والی کوئی بات۔

There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.

اور ان پر گردش میں رہیں گے نوجوان لڑکے ان کی خدمت کے لیے وہ ایسے ہوں گے جیسے موتی ہوں غلافوں میں رکھے ہوئے۔

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

اور وہ (اہل جنت) ایک دوسرے کی طرف رخ کرکے باہم سوال کریں گے۔

They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allāh].

وہ کہیں گے کہ ہم پہلے اپنے اہل و عیال میں ڈرتے ہوئے رہتے تھے۔

So Allāh conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.

تو اللہ نے بڑا احسان کیا ہم پر اور ہمیں بچالیا لو کے عذاب سے۔

Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."

یقینا ہم پہلے سے اس کو پکارا کرتے تھے۔

So remind, [O Muḥammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

تو (اے نبی ﷺ !) آپ تذکیر کرتے رہیے پس آپ اپنے رب کے فضل سے نہ کاہن ہیں اور نہ مجنون۔

Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time"?

کیا ان کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ ایک شاعر ہے جس کے لیے ہم منتظر ہیں گردش زمانہ کے ؟

Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."

آپ ﷺ کہیے کہ اچھا تم انتظار کرو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں ہوں۔

Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?

کیا ان کی عقلیں انہیں یہی کچھ سکھا رہی ہیں یا یہ ہیں ہی سرکش لوگ ؟

Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.

کیا ان کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ اس (محمد ﷺ نے خود گھڑ لیا ہے ؟ بلکہ (اصل بات یہ ہے کہ) یہ ماننے والے نہیں ہیں۔

Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.

تو وہ لے آئیں اس جیسی کوئی ایک بات اگر وہ سچے ہیں۔

Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?

کیا یہ بغیر کسی کے بنائے ہوئے خود بن گئے ہیں یا یہ خود ہی خالق ہیں ؟

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.

کیا آسمانوں اور زمین کو انہوں نے بنایا ہے ؟ بلکہ (اصل بات یہ ہے کہ) یہ یقین نہیں رکھتے۔

Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?

کیا ان کے قبضہ قدرت میں آپ کے رب کے خزانے ہیں یا یہ داروغہ ہیں ؟

Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority [i.e., proof].

کیا ان کے پاس کوئی ایسی سیڑھی ہے جس کے ذریعے سے یہ آسمان کی خبریں سن لیتے ہیں ؟ اگر ایسا ہے) تو ان کا سننے والا کوئی واضح دلیل لائے۔

Or has He daughters while you have sons?

کیا اس کے لیے تو بیٹیاں ہیں اور تمہارے لیے بیٹے ؟

Or do you, [O Muḥammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

کیا آپ ان لوگوں سے کوئی اجرت طلب کر رہے ہیں کہ یہ تاوان کے بوجھ تلے دبے جا رہے ہیں ؟

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

کیا ان کے پاس غیب کا علم ہے جسے یہ لکھ رہے ہیں ؟

Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.

کیا یہ لوگ کوئی چال چلنا چاہتے ہیں ؟ اصل میں تو یہ کافر خود ہی چال کا شکار ہوگئے ہیں۔

Or have they a deity other than Allāh? Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.

کیا ان کے لیے اللہ کے سوا کوئی اور الٰہ بھی ہے ؟ پاک ہے اللہ اس سے جو شرک یہ کر رہے ہیں۔

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."

اور اگر کبھی یہ دیکھیں آسمان کا کوئی ٹکڑا گرتا ہوا تو کہیں گے کہ یہ تو بادل ہیں تہ بر تہ۔

So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -

تو (اے نبی ﷺ !) چھوڑے رکھیے ان کو یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنے اس دن سے دوچار ہوں جس میں ان پر بجلی کی کڑک گرے گی۔

The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.

جس دن ان کی چالیں ان کے کسی کام نہ آسکیں گی اور نہ ہی ان کی کوئی مدد ہی ہوگی۔

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.

اور ان ظالموں کے لیے اس (آخرت کے عذاب) کے علاوہ بھی ایک عذاب ہے لیکن ان کی اکثریت علم نہیں رکھتی۔

And be patient, [O Muḥammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes [i.e., sight]. And exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord when you arise

(اور اے نبی ﷺ آپ اپنے ربّ کے فیصلے کا انتظار کیجیے۔ بیشک آپ ہماری نگاہوں میں ہیں۔ اور آپ تسبیح کرتے رہیں اپنے رب کی حمد کے ساتھ جب آپ کھڑے ہوں۔

And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.

اور رات کے ایک حصے میں بھی آپ اس کی تسبیح کریں اور ستاروں کے پیٹھ موڑتے وقت بھی (آپ تسبیح کیجیے)
