Al-Waqi'ah

When the Occurrence occurs,

جب وہ ہونے والا واقعہ رونما ہوجائے گا۔

There is, at its occurrence, no denial.

اور جان لو) اس کے واقع ہونے میں کوئی جھوٹ نہیں ہے۔

It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].

وہ پست کرنے والی اور بلند کرنے والی ہوگی۔

When the earth is shaken with convulsion

جب زمین ہلا ڈالی جائے گی جیسے کہ زلزلہ آتا ہے۔

And the mountains are broken down, crumbling

اور پہاڑ بالکل ریزہ ریزہ کردیے جائیں گے۔

And become dust dispersing,

پس وہ ہوجائیں گے اڑتا ہوا غبار۔

And you become [of] three kinds:

اور تم تین گروہوں میں منقسم ہو جائو گے۔

Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?

تو جو داہنے والے ہوں گے کیا خوب ہوں گے وہ داہنے والے !

And the companions of the left - what are companions of the left?

اور جو بائیں والے ہوں گے تو کیا حال ہوگا بائیں والوں کا

And the forerunners, the forerunners -

اور آگے نکل جانے والے تو ہیں ہی آگے نکل جانے والے۔

Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]

وہی تو بہت مقرب ہوں گے۔

In the Gardens of Pleasure,

یہ نعمتوں والے باغات میں ہوں گے۔

A [large] company of the former peoples

یہ بڑی تعداد میں ہوں گے پہلوں میں سے۔

And a few of the later peoples,

اور تھوڑے ہوں گے پچھلوں میں سے۔

On thrones woven [with ornament],

جڑائو تختوں پر

Reclining on them, facing each other.

ٹیک لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے آمنے سامنے۔

There will circulate among them young boys made eternal.

ان پر گردش کر رہے ہوں گے وہ لڑکے جو سدا اسی طرح رہیں گے۔

With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -

آب خورے صراحیاں اور شراب خالص کے جام لیے ہوئے۔

No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -

اس سے) نہ تو ان کے سروں میں کوئی گرانی ہوگی اور نہ ہی وہ بہکیں گے۔

And fruit of what they select

اور میوے جو وہ پسند کریں گے۔

And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.

اور پرندوں کے گوشت جو انہیں مرغوب ہوں گے۔

And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,

اور حوریں ہوں گی بڑی بڑی آنکھوں والی۔

The likenesses of pearls well-protected,

جیسے موتی ہوں چھپا کر رکھے گئے۔

As reward for what they used to do.

یہ بدلہ ہوگا ان کے اعمال کا جو وہ کرتے رہے تھے۔

They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -

وہ نہیں سنیں گے اس میں کوئی لغو بات اور نہ ہی کوئی الزام۔

Only a saying [of] peace, peace.

مگر (ان کے لیے ہر طرف سے) سلام سلام ہی کی آوازیں ہوں گی۔

The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?

۔ } اور اصحاب الیمین ! کیا کہنے ہیں اصحاب الیمین کے !

[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed.

وہ ہوں گے بیری کے درختوں میں جن میں کانٹے نہیں ہوں گے۔

And [banana] trees layered [with fruit].

اور تہ بر تہ کیلے۔

And shade extended.

اور پھیلے ہوئے سائے

And water poured out

اور بہتا ہوا پانی۔

And fruit, abundant [and varied],

اور کثرت کے ساتھ میوے۔

Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,

نہ ٹوٹے ہوئے اور نہ ہی پہنچ سے باہر۔

And [upon] beds raised high.

اور اونچے اونچے بچھونے۔

Indeed, We have produced them [i.e., the women of Paradise] in a [new] creation

ان (کی بیویوں) کو اٹھایا ہے ہم نے بڑی اچھی اٹھان پر۔

And made them virgins,

پس ہم نے بنایا ہے انہیں کنواریاں۔

Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,

پیار دینے دلانے والیاں ہم عمر

For the companions of the right [who are]

یہ سب کچھ ہوگا) اصحاب الیمین کے لیے۔

A company of the former peoples

جو پہلوں میں سے بھی بہت ہوں گے۔

And a company of the later peoples.

اور پچھلوں میں سے بھی بہت ہوں گے۔

And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?

اور بائیں والے ! کیا (ہی برا) حال ہوگا بائیں والوں کا

[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water

وہ ہوں گے تیز لو اور کھولتے ہوئے پانی میں

And a shade of black smoke,

اور کالے دھوئیں کے سائے میں۔

Neither cool nor beneficial.

نہ وہ ٹھنڈا ہوگا اور نہ ہی سکون بخش۔

Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,

یہ لوگ اس سے پہلے (دنیا میں) بڑے خوشحال تھے۔

And they used to persist in the great violation,

اور یہ اصرار کرتے تھے بہت بڑے گناہ پر۔

And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?

اور وہ یہ کہا کرتے تھے کہ کیا ہم جب مرجائیں گے اور ہوجائیں مٹی اور ہڈیاں تو کیا پھر سے اٹھا کھڑے کیے جائیں گے ؟

And our forefathers [as well]?"

اور کیا ہمارے آباء و اَجداد بھی جو پہلے گزر چکے ہیں ؟

Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, the former and later peoples

اے نبی ﷺ !) آپ کہیے کہ یقینا پہلے بھی اور پچھلے بھی۔

Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."

لازماً جمع کیے جائیں گے ایک مقرر دن کے طے شدہ وقت پر۔

Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,

پھر تم اے گمراہو اور جھٹلانے والو

Will be eating from trees of zaqqūm

ضرور کھائو گے زقوم کے درخت سے۔

And filling with it your bellies

پس اسی سے تم اپنے پیٹ بھرو گے۔

And drinking on top of it from scalding water.

پھر پیو گے اس پر کھولتا ہوا پانی۔

And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.

اور ایسے پیو گے جیسے پیاس کا مارا اونٹ پیتا ہے۔

That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.

یہ ہوگی ان کی ابتدائی ضیافت جزا کے دن۔

We have created you, so why do you not believe?

ہم نے تمہیں پیدا کیا ہے تو تم لوگ تصدیق کیوں نہیں کرتے ؟

Have you seen that which you emit?

کیا تم نے کبھی غور کیا اس پر جو (منی) تم ٹپکادیتے ہو ؟

Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?

کیا اس کی تخلیق تم کرتے ہو یا ہم تخلیق کرنے والے ہیں ؟

We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone

ہم نے تمہارے مابین موت کو ٹھہرا دیا ہے اور ہم اس سے عاجز نہیں ہیں

In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.

کہ تمہاری مثل بدل کر لائیں اور تمہیں ایسی تخلیق میں اٹھائیں جسے تم نہیں جانتے !

And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?

اور تم (اپنی) پہلی زندگی کے بارے میں تو جانتے ہی ہو

And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?

کیا تم نے کبھی غور کیا کہ یہ بیج جو تم بوتے ہو ؟

Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?

کیا تم اسے اگاتے ہو یا ہم اگانے والے ہیں ؟

If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,

اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے چورا چورا کردیں پھر تم بیٹھے رہو باتیں بناتے ہوئے

[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;

کہ لو جی !) ہم پر تو بڑا تاوان پڑگیا۔

Rather, we have been deprived."

بلکہ ہم تو بالکل ہی محروم ہو کر رہ گئے۔

And have you seen the water that you drink?

کبھی تم نے غور کیا کہ وہ پانی جو تم پیتے ہو ؟

Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?

کیا بادلوں سے تم نے اسے برسایا ہے یا ہم ہیں برسانے والے ؟

If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?

اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے کڑوا کردیں تو تم کیوں شکر ادا نہیں کرتے ؟

And have you seen the fire that you ignite?

کبھی تم نے سوچا کہ وہ آگ جو تم جلاتے ہو ؟

Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?

کیا اس کے درخت کو تم نے پیدا کیا ہے یا اس کے پیدا کرنے والے ہم ہیں ؟

We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,

ہم نے بنا دیا اس کو ایک نشانی یاد دلانے کو اور ایک بہت فائدہ مند چیز صحرا کے مسافروں کے لیے۔

So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

پس تم تسبیح بیان کرو اپنے ربّ کے نام کی جو بہت عظمت والا ہے۔

Then I swear by the setting of the stars,

پس نہیں ! قسم ہے مجھے ان مقامات کی جہاں ستارے ڈوبتے ہیں۔

And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.

اور یقینا یہ بہت بڑی قسم ہے اگر تم جانو

Indeed, it is a noble Qur’ān.

یقینا یہ بہت عزت والا قرآن ہے۔

In a Register well-protected;.

ایک چھپی ہوئی کتاب میں۔

None touch it except the purified [i.e., the angels].

اسے چھو نہیں سکتے مگر وہی جو بالکل پاک ہیں۔

[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

اس کا اتارا جانا ہے ربّ العالمین کی جانب سے

Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent

۔ } تو کیا تم لوگ اس کتاب کے بارے میں مداہنت کر رہے ہو ؟

And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?

اور تم نے اپنا نصیب یہ ٹھہرا لیا ہے کہ تم اس کو جھٹلا رہے ہو۔

Then why, when it [i.e., the soul at death] reaches the throat

تو کیوں نہیں جب جان حلق میں آ (کر پھنس) جاتی ہے۔

And you are at that time looking on -

اور تم اس وقت دیکھ رہے ہوتے ہو۔

And We [i.e., Our angels] are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -

اور ہم تمہارے مقابلے میں اس سے قریب تر ہوتے ہیں لیکن تم دیکھ نہیں پاتے۔

Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,

تو اگر تم کسی کے اختیار میں نہیں ہو

Bring it back, if you should be truthful?

تو اس (جان) کو لوٹا کیوں نہیں لیتے اگر تم سچے ہو ؟

And if he [i.e., the deceased] was of those brought near [to Allāh],

۔ } پھر اگر وہ مقربین میں سے تھا۔

Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.

تو اس کے لیے راحت اور سرور اور نعمتوں والی جنت ہے۔

And if he was of the companions of the right,

اور اگر وہ اصحاب الیمین میں سے تھا۔

Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."

تو سلامتی پہنچے آپ کو اصحاب الیمین کی طرف سے۔

But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,

اور اگر وہ تھا جھٹلانے والوں اور گمراہوں میں سے۔

Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water

تو اس کے لیے مہمانی ہے کھولتے پانی سے۔

And burning in Hellfire.

اور جہنم میں جلنا۔

Indeed, this is the true certainty,

یقینا یہ سب کچھ قطعی حق ہے۔

So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

پس آپ تسبیح کیجیے اپنے رب کے نام کی جو کہ بہت عظمت والا ہے۔
