Al-Buruj

By the sky containing great stars

قسم ہے آسمان کی جو برجوں والا ہے۔

And [by] the promised Day

اور قسم ہے اس دن کی جس کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے۔

And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,

اور قسم ہے حاضر ہونے والے کی اور اس کی جس کے پاس حاضر ہوا جائے۔

Destroyed [i.e., cursed] were the companions of the trench

ہلاک ہوگئے وہ کھائیوں والے۔

[Containing] the fire full of fuel,

وہ آگ جو بڑی ایندھن والی تھی۔

When they were sitting near it.

جبکہ وہ اس (کے کناروں) پر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔

And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.

اور مومنین کے ساتھ وہ جو کچھ کر رہے تھے خود اس کا نظارہ بھی کر رہے تھے۔

And they resented them not except because they believed in Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,

اور وہ نہیں انتقام لے رہے تھے ان سے مگر اس لیے کہ وہ ایمان لے آئے تھے اللہ پر جو زبردست ہے اور اپنی ذات میں خود ستودہ صفات ہے۔

To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allāh, over all things, is Witness.

جس کے لیے بادشاہی ہے آسمانوں کی اور زمین کی۔ اور اللہ تو ہرچیز پر خود گواہ ہے۔

Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

یقینا جن لوگوں نے ظلم و ستم توڑا مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں پر پھر انہوں نے توبہ بھی نہیں کی تو ان کے لیے ہوگا جہنم کا عذاب اور جلا ڈالنے والا عذاب۔

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.

یقینا وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور جنہوں نے نیک عمل کیے ان کے لیے وہ باغات ہوں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی۔ یہ ہے اصل بڑی کامیابی۔

Indeed, the assault [i.e., vengeance] of your Lord is severe.

یقینا تیرے رب کی پکڑ بڑی سخت ہے۔

Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.

وہی ہے جو پہلی مرتبہ پیدا کرتا ہے اور وہی اعادہ بھی کرے گا۔

And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,

اور وہ بخشنے والا بھی ہے محبت کرنے والا بھی ہے۔

Honorable Owner of the Throne,

عرش کا مالک ہے بڑی شان والا ہے۔

Effecter of what He intends.

وہ جو ارادہ کرلے کر گزرنے والا ہے۔

Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -

کیا آپ کے پاس لشکروں کی خبر پہنچی ہے ؟

[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamūd?

فرعون اور ثمود (کے لشکروں) کی ؟

But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,

لیکن یہ کافر جو ہیں یہ جھٹلانے ہی میں لگے رہیں گے۔

While Allāh encompasses them from behind.

جبکہ اللہ ان کو گھیرے میں لیے ہوئے ہے۔

But this is an honored Qur’ān

بلکہ یہ تو قرآن ہے بہت عزت والا۔

[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.

لوحِ محفوظ میں (نقش ہے)۔
